Why We Built This Site
Pennsylvania gives the public access to many court records through the Unified Judicial System, county offices, and office-specific request channels. The hard part is figuring out which Berks County office holds the file you want. The Prothonotary handles civil Court of Common Pleas filings, judgments, divorce filings, and protection-from-abuse matters. The Clerk of Courts keeps criminal division records, costs, fines, restitution, and criminal orders. The Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans' Court handles estates, marriage licenses, adoptions, guardianships, and Orphans' Court files. The Sheriff handles warrant and law-enforcement records where public access is allowed, while jail custody information uses separate county and state channels. Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
